Beautiful Creatures by: Kami Garcia & Margaret Stohl

After a short reading hiatus (more to do with being unable to find books that I hadn't read rather then not wanting to read) my best friend and I went to Chapters for yummy Starbucks and book therapy. My limited amount of available cash made me gravitate to the young adult section (FYI book in YA section are less expensive then the adult section) where I came upon Beautiful Creatures by Kami GArcia and Margaret Stohl. I curled up with a cozy blanket and a giant cuppa tea and read the book in almost one sitting. If I were to describe this book to you I have no doubt that in my excitement I would reveal far to much of the book then you would like. Since I don't want to spoil such a treasure as this book is, below is the publishers description whatchamacallit.

Happy Reading!

There were no surprises in Gatlin County.
We were pretty much the epicenter of the middle of nowhere.
At least, that's what I thought.
Turns out, I couldn't have been more wrong.
There was a curse.
There was a girl.
And in the end, there was grave.

Lena Duchannes is unlike anyone the small Southern town of Gatlin has ever seen, and she's struggling to conceal her power and a curse that has haunted her family for generations. But even within the overgrown gardens, murky swamps and crumbling graveyards of the forgotten South, a secret cannot stay hidden forever.

Ethan Wate, who has been counting the months until he can escape from Gatlin, is haunted by dreams of a beautiful girl he has never met. When Lena moves into the town's oldest and most infamous plantation, Ethan is inexplicably drawn to her and determined to uncover the connection between them.

In a town with no surprises, one secret could change everything.

Hope you enjoy this book as much as I did :)
